According to the tipster, the Huawei Mate XT 2 will be announced in September in China. He added that it is undergoing internal testing with satellite connectivity support, most likely for features like emergency messaging or basic internet access in remote areas, similar to what has been seen on recent Huawei flagship phones and some Apple devices.

He has also claimed that the Mate XT 2 will come with upgrades in departments such as chipset, imaging, and communications. A recent leak claimed that the device will come equipped with UFG (ultra-flexible glass) technology for better screen durability.
To recall, the Huawei Mate XT, which debuted last year in September, features a massive 10.2-inch display while maintaining an incredibly thin 3.6mm profile. The device features a triple-camera setup (50-megapixel + 13-megapixel + periscope lens), 16GB RAM, and up to 1TB storage. It has reportedly sold over 400,000 units, underscoring growing consumer interest in ultra-premium foldable.

In related news, Samsung is also gearing up to enter the tri-fold segment. The upcoming Samsung tri-fold phone, reportedly codenamed Q7M, has appeared in the GSMA IMEI database under model numbers SM-F9680 (China) and SM-F968N (Korea). It is expected to launch in October 2025, marking direct competition with Huawei’s lineup.
